Activities

Activities

Cloverleaf Ranch campers have the opportunity to design their own schedule from over 25 activities with the objective of experiencing new activities, developing new skills and/or advancing their present ability.

Waterfront

Activities

At our Pool, qualified instructors oversee swimming and water safety. We have lots of water toys and host games like water volleyball and water polo. We have certified lifeguards at all times during waterfront activities. On the first day of camp, each camper will participate in a Swim Check so the lifeguards can observe the swimming level of each camper. The swim check is for your child’s safety, as they will be swimming with campers of all skill levels. Due to the long-term effects of the drought and the resulting topographic changes to the land, the swimming hole will not be available.

Equestrian Program

Activities

Professional riding instruction in the arena, trail rides, and weekly horse shows are all part of the horse program at Cloverleaf Ranch. To round out our program, instruction is offered in horse care and CHA horsemanship. We provide boots and helmets for these activities, although campers are welcome to bring their own equipment if they prefer. Campers must be 7 years old to participate in a group riding lesson. Campers 6 years of age and younger can participate in a lead line riding lesson. Please read ‘Riding FAQ’ for more detailed information about each program.

Sports Programs

Activities

Our facilities give campers the opportunity to learn a new game and develop skills in a variety of challenging sports including Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, Flag Football, Rugby, Ping Pong, and a batting cage for baseball enthusiasts. We provide all equipment for these sports, although campers are welcome to bring their own equipment such as cleats, gloves or tennis rackets.

Zip Line Program

Activities

Our 1000 ft zipline sends campers flying over the scenic hills and valleys of our ranch. All zip line staff receive special certification training, and our zip line continues to be one of the most popular activities at camp! Zipline is for ages 7 and up, who also properly fit the harness.

Outdoor

Activities

Our camp is located on 160 acres of rolling, oak-dotted hills and the majority of our program is focused on outdoor activities. It is our goal to send your child home happy and smelling of sunscreen, sweat, and summer fun! Campers participate in nature walks, hiking, bird watching, gardening, and many other games and outdoor based activities.

Traditional

Activities

We offer many enriching activities that allow campers to gain new skills and coordination. These activities include, but are not limited to, Dance and Drama, Juggling, Music, Arts and Crafts, Cooking, and Table Games! You must be 8 years old to participate in Riflery.

Thursday Evening on the Ranch

Activities

This is a special extra treat for campers and is wonderful time to further bond with the friends they made throughout the week. After a camp dinner that we provide, day campers head to one of our campfire locations. There, we make a fire, play games, tell stories, sing songs, and of course, make’s mores. This is easily the most memorable event of the week, as campers get to experience the magic of the outdoors in a safe setting. Please note that the Thursday Evening is OPTIONAL and is completely up to the camper and the parent as to whether they want to participate or not.

Color Games

Activities

On Thursday, campers participate in the ever-popular Color Games. Each camper is separated onto a color team at the beginning of the week, and is encouraged to dress up in that color when they come on Thursday. Each team creates a banner and makes up cheers, and then the teams play a series of games against one another throughout the morning, including a counselor hunt, relay races, and trivia. The emphasis of this activity is placed on sportsmanship and teamwork, which really helps campers get into the spirit of color games.

Horse Show

Activities

On Friday mornings, we host a Horse Show, down in the main arena. This is a great way for campers to experience a traditional western horse show and to show off the horse skills and knowledge developed over the week. Participation in the riding portion of the horse show is optional; campers will sign up on Thursday at lunch. The horse show is reserved for campers in the Equestrian and Resident camp program only, although exceptions will be considered for children who take private lessons and demonstrate adequate skill.

Please Note: This is a closed event for campers only. This is a chance for them to gain camaraderie with their peers and not feel the pressure of performing for the public.

Archery and Riflery

Activities

Activities like archery and riflery give campers a chance to hone their fine motor skills, learn important safety practices, and develop their spans of attention and focus; all while working toward achievable and age-appropriate awards. Riflery is limited to campers age 8 and up. Campers use air soft rifles.
